That's what you call a lot of snow there George. I take it you broke out the 4x4 for tootling about? Isn't it a bit bizarre that only last week we -most of the country- were basking in temperatures better than traditionally hot countries? Woke up this morning to snow. Most of it low-lying has gone, but still up on the hills. We are on the lower to mid side of a valley, and the white stuff is not too far away. Have to admit, I'm not a fan of snowy weather.

lol.

The previous Tuesday i was on Scotland best driving road the A939 before it was to close for 9 weeks.

Then back using the A93

The temp was over 23 degrees Celcius and wonderfull.

240 miles of driving heaven.

(sorry about the picture quality, taken on the video camera through the windscreen)

Funnily they did close the section of road on Tuesday from the Gairnshiel to Corgarff, but not for the road works, for the snow.

Nice pics George, amazing scenery and best of all in good weather. Much like my recent trip to Barmouth. See the link below for pics of that. Not sure if they stayed in the right order. There are a few pics that had Hawk jet trainers in them. My wife managed to capture a few. Bear in mind, the camera is usually used for stationary objects, not fast movers.

The road is steep over the mountain pass and I was down to 2nd gear a few times on the tight bends. Luckily had no one behind us. The little bute' got us up there fine though. Pictures 33 & 34, and 44 have Hawk jets in them. The roads to Barmouth from Welshpool are A458, A470 and A496. The air corridor the jets use is called the 'Mach Loop.' You can climb the mountains from the car parks to take pics of the jets and other aircraft as they fly past, sometimes below you if you are high enough.

I think recently they have stopped on a part of it as there is a mating pair of... some bird of prey, forget the details now, but the RAF have told the aircrew's to not fly below 500ft in that area. Nice of them.
