I Phone 4S And The Rav4 Phone System..

My old iPhone 3G paired fine with the Toyota hands free kit but when asked to transmit the phone would send but the car could not receive the data.. So My phone book in the car remained empty.

So the phone worked just fine but I could not select numbers from the phone book on the move and could not identify incoming callers...

I have just got the latest iPhone 4S and it seems that this later cant even attempt to transmit the data let alone the car receive it... I was hoping this phone would be an improvement but it seems it wont work... It is paired and works just as the old 3G one....

Is it possible to input the numbers one by one so I can do selections on the move and of course identify incoming callers ??

There are times when I only want to accept selected incoming calls as I prefer not to use the phone on the move unless it is very important...

Update your iPhone 4s to iTunes, Then pair it to your Rav. Then update it every 6 weeks to iTunes

Charlie, yes you can input numbers one by one too if you wish so that you have your main contracts until you sort your phone book. We initially did this with ours.

Give me a shout if you need any help/guidance on how to do it.

Martin thanks for that .. I may just take You up on that offer.. Could You PM Me the number as I have lost it ........

Clare the phone has all the latest updates and has been connected to I Tunes still no joy ...... There is no tab in the I phones menu ( Settings) to press unlike the 3g... I think this phone is not capable of transferring data....

The old 3G could also not transfer the data.. But at least there was a tab in settings that allowed it to try.... Thats progress ???

For anyone interested the I phone is still incapable of transmitting its phone book data via bluetooth.. Numbers have to be put in manually one at a time.....

Charlie, as I mentioned in another thread Apple has chosen to cripple the iPhone's bluetooth implementation. They only allow telephone calls and music streaming. You cannot transfer phone book contacts, files or photos through BT. I'm in the same boat as you with my iPhone 4.

Mate.. I phone 3G Would at least attempt to do it or should I say had a tab within settings to allow Us to try... 4S does not even have the tab.... So You are correct it seems Apple have chosen not to allow the function... Cheers .......

Strange! I have paired my iPhone 4 with my touch and go system really easily. All contacts are automatically displayed in phonebook when the phone is connected.

Only thing I can't get to work is text messaging, any ideas anyone?

My system is the old type.... But the phone is the latest 4S and does not have the function to transmit like My old 3G did.....
