It Passed.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well :)

Haven't been round much but still keep looking in from time to time.

Just thought i would let you all know that our Rav passed it's MOT with flying colours, and as the Toyota dealer promised we didn't have to pay,so have got seventeen months MOT,five months when we bought it

They also sorted that rear end noise out for us while we were waiting, and it was the tyres,as suggested by some members here, which they swapped round back to front front to back, and that seems to have cured that

But we really do have to say that our whole experience with this Toyota dealer (Solihull) has been fantastic.

They have kept to all their promises on the deal when we bought the car,and have been really friendly and helpful with all our queries, especially with it been an eight year old Rav.

So we are really chuffed

Nice one Paul!

Have to say I've been less than impressed with certain aspects of that dealership in the past, but I just get the feeling that since the bout of bad publicity Toyota had at the beginning of last year, that all the dealers are now trying even harder.

So, good for them. :thumbsup::yahoo:

Very pleased for you, Paul, but not surprised.

Our 02-reg VX has passed the MOT every year first time (says he touching all available woody things furiously!!!). I have found their overall quality second to none.

Glad the tyre noise got sorted out easily.

ATB,

JIm

Good news Paul

Mind, only thing it was likely to fail on was being too shiny so as to cause a reflection hazard

Great Stuff!....Your wallet must be pleased? hahaha Nice to hear positive stuff about a dealer too!......Must say, I am enjoying having my Summer tyres on, instead of those studded Nokians. Makes for a much quiter ride all round....and after driving a Renault Twingo diesel all last week....the wee Rav feels like a Bentley!

Good Luck

Allan

I didn't know Nokia made tyres. Or do you glue smartphones to your tyres to increase traction in winter?

They don't... but they did!...Actually Nokian started making wellington boots before starting a new division called Nokia to manufacture phones.....looking at their recent numbers a bet they wished they stuck to the wellies! hahaha

Cheers

Thanks everyone for your comments

I was pretty confident that it would pass but Mrs P always panics over MOT time :fear:

One point about the rear end noise though was we was told it could be summat to do with the diff at first, but they would try changing the wheels over first, which thankfully did the trick, but it did put that question in me head now as to why they didn't think and do what they did first time round when we took it back.

So what could be causing that noise if it was summat to do with the diff??

They also had a few second hand Ravs in for sale and all of em had little mud flaps at the rear but on the front of the arch,in front of the wheel.

What are they for?

We still seem to be getting a lot of dirt/mud thrown up the sides and the back, just from normal road use,so would those small flaps help??

The little flaps are to improve airflow and fuel consumption. 4.3s are bristling with them.

Does the 4.3 have the tubes that route through the bodywork to reduce drag from the front when the DRS activates?

I thought they were little mud flaps for when we're flying backwards!

Actually now I think about it, I am sure its the face lifted 4.3 that has the modified body work to take advantage of the holes that are exposed when the DRS flaps activate

I suppose it could be retrofitted to earlier 4.3's, but it would be expensive

Thanks chaps.

I don't think our 4.2 has got the DRS,as it.Is there a button or summat some where that we haven't found yet,or is a Dirt Reduction System :D

The flaps were all fitted to the Ravs with sidesteps,i just thought it was to stop any dirt/water coming up off them??
