Hi I'm a newby with what I believe to be a dud aygo. With only 27k on the clock I have had to have a new steering rack and column, new clutch, new water pump and brakes . To top it all off having just collected it from the garage after bodywork repair the radio is not working but the fuses are ok?! Anyone got any ideas on what may be an alternative cause of the radio not working? The body work repair did not involve disconnecting the Battery and it just seems to be coincidental that it is not working

Hi Julia and welcome to the TOC. I think your first move is have your repairer have a look at the problem. If the radio was ok before they had the car, then its something hey have done. Does your radio have a code number protection that needs entering before it will work. Did the repairer say they had not disconnnected the Battery.

Hello and welcome in to the TOC Julia :)

The aygo factory radios are not coded, the fuse for the radio is in the steering column - I blew mine when I had a dodgy compressor connected to the 12v socket

New water pump......Expected. Early ones almost all failed. You'll now have the much improved version.

Brakes at 27000 miles. Again, about par for the course. Aygo brakes are excellent for the type of car

it is but these days are treated as an expendable item. I am very mechanically sympathetic, but I've

still changed mine for EBC ones at less than 30000 miles.

New steering rack & column. I've heard of very few of those, unlucky with that then.

Radio? Think that's down to the garage. Don't want to patronise......Which fuses did you check?

Only a few are easily accessable under the bonnet. Many are located in the speedo surround,

just behind the steering wheel. (Secured by a couple of screws).
