I'm getting exhaust fumes in the cabin of my 07 diesel Aygo. It is really strong when the fan is on. Has anyone else had this ? How was it fixed ?

The first reaction would be to suggest your exhaust system is leaking. Whether this is from a hole in the pipework or a joint would need to be checked. Has it been changed recently or is it original? If original bear in mind it's now 5 years old. Has it just started to happen?

Sometimes it "creeps up" on you by adjusting your hearing to accomodate the sound of a leak. Similar happens with brakes, the permanent driver just gets used to and compensates for their deterioration but someone different drives the car and notices the brakes are rubbish!

Have a listen under the bonnet and maybe run your hand along and close to, don't touch obviously, the system under the car with the engine running. You might detect something blowing slightly.

Thanks Peter, I'll do as you suggest.

Turned out to be #4 injector not properly seated. Repaired by my local garage after a minimum quote of around £250 for investigation by a Toyota dealer.
