Grrrrrrr !!

My insurance went up £150 for all the mods on the car. Dorset also said that norwhich union most prob won't insure me when the 12months are up because of all the mods to the car.... :(

Oh well... I'll have to shop around in a few months.

I had renewal last month...

Norwich Union via Dorset = £1500

Elephant renewal = £1000

94 NA MkII, Jap Import, 24, 1years NCB, with a K&N Induction Kit.

Not at all impressed by Dorset especially since everyone says how good the scheme is. Must be coz of the track day cover I guess.

mmm.... I'll try someone like adrian flux etc when the time arrives.

Remember Chris Knott (I hope I am right) gives a gold discount when you next go looking for quotes.

Did you ask Dorset to drop all the 'extras' (eg track cover) to get a better premium?

I didn't actually... what other "extras" are there for them to drop ?

well, the track cover for a start... roadside assistance? stereo cover?

Mind you, i've heard their prices have gone up from a lot of people, i guess i will have to wait and see come renewal time..

I was just messing about on elephant.co.uk and got a quote of £4077.73 !!!!! WTF ??

You will need to call Elephant for a quote, though TBH mate, you have quite a lot going against you, an armful of mods and your accident last year. The premium aint gonna be pretty :(.

Posted

lol  as far as i know elephant dont do quotes for turbos online, you gotta phone em up

mmmm..... pap !!

Dorset were good - but people started taking the pee pee with the "no charge for mods" policy .. I'm now with Flux ..

Posted

TBH I don't think the no charge for mods policy was ever going to be sustainable. At the end of the day, you have to find someone willing to underwrite the risk.

I gots a better idea jimlad! Why dont you sell me that low rise kit and your wheels! Thatll help your premiums for sure! See im always willing to help out.

£100 for the lot...youll thank me when you see your new quotes.

Told you a few months ago Jimlad.. sell up and buy a 1.0 metro.

Why dont you go on Alans insurance?

Posted

nah.. hw wont. I'll stick him on mine though, so it should make it slightly less. It's gonna be fun trying to find insurance in a few months !

Just make sure you call loads of places. UK vehicles owners lost £4billion last year because they didn't shop around for quotes.
