Newbie - With Some Queries

Hi

Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Mags and I live in West Sussex with my hubby, daughter and assorted animals. We recently became the, very happy I must say, owners of a 2008 Avensis Estate 2.2 D-4D with all the knobs and whistles - a big step up from the faithful but rather delapidated Skoda Octavia it replaced. We also have a Skoda Fabia. I use the BriSkoda forum regularly to sort out bits and pieces that our garage can't and I am sure that this forum will be just as useful! :D

To start with I have a couple of queries, cycle racks - is there a rear mounted one for the Avensis Estate - can't find one and I suspect the plastic spolier at the top of the rear window stops one being fitted? If there isn't, I'd like to look at tow bar mounted ones - any recommendations? One little prob though - despite all the knobs and whistles on the car, there is currently no tow-bar - boo hoo, so I would need to get one fitted - again any recommendations? Would only be using it for the cycle rack so cheap and cheerful would be ideal.

The other prob is I can't change the clock on the dashboard - have tried the instructions in the owners manual bit no luck - any ideas?

Any help most gratefully received.

Kind Regards

Mags

Hi & welcome :)

First off, you can only change the clock whilst not moving.

Second, if you talk us through what you are doing & what you are seeing we'll try to get you sorted.

& thirdly you might want to read up on the potential headgasket problem with the 2.2 as it seems more prone.

Hopefully you won't need the knowledge but forewarned is forearmed.

Hi and a big thank you to everyone who replied to my post, please accept my apolgies for posting and running, life's been a bit hectic.

Heidfirst - thank you for your offer of help with the clock. I decided in the first instance to look at the manual again, so's not to appear a total numpty, this time I found the right page....... and hey presto, clock sorted! Doh!

Now just to sort the cycle carrier out!
