Land Cruiser Running Slow.

Hi, I'm looking for some serious help here. I've got a lc4 2006 3ltr D4D.

In July 2010 my engine stopped working while on the motorway. We had no warning lights, sounds or issues to say this was about to happen.

The car was taken immediately to RRG Salford where they diagnosed massive engine failure. I was told the injector had broken up and shredded the engine, after some time Toyota agreed to fit a new parts but I had to pay for labour and also a new turbo as they said they wouldn't give a guarantee if I didn't replace the turbo. The parts replaced were

Short motor, injectors, pistons rings and sleeves, gaskets and a few more parts I can't remember oh and the turbo which I was told I had to change (which I still have as they gave me the old one to keep).

I got the car back and after a small matter of the turbo not being fitted correctly the car ran perfect, we took it down to the south of France for 3 weeks and it ran sweet.

Just over a year later I had a service and found the car had a recall for the oil strainer, I was recovering from a cancer operation and took it to a nearer garage which was RRG Swinton. They fitted the new oil strainer and also the new aluminium washers for the injectors as this recall was listed for both.

I got the car back and it ran like a tank, leaking fuel and sluggish with an increasing knocking sound. The car went back and they said a fuel pip hadn't been fitted properly. So once again I left and with the exception of the fuel leaving a trail everywhere the car ran just as bad, unfortunately I was so I'll I didn't realise just how bad the car was and after a few weeks of my wife driving the car we went back in to complain about the problems. They ran diagnostics and nothing showed up. I went away feeling it was my fault. As the problems were getting worse I went to RRG Salford and they sent me away saying bad workmanship from Swinton can't be fixed at Salford as they run independently, good for them, bad for the customer.

I've now developed a water leak from the water pump. New water pump fitted.

Back we go to Swinton to look at the car more carefully. The service manager in all honesty did more than expected and with his head mechanic diagnosed a blocked egr and egr cooler which have been replaced, now running better but still takes 22 seconds to get to 60 and I'm getting diesel knock.

The fuel and air filter have been cleaned, I've cleaned the MAF and the intercooler air sender unit. I've taken the intercooler off and cleaned it with spirit.

On a note of astonishment I found a vacume pipe that has come off at the back of the engine, this was one of two pipes in the egr at the back, I'm now fairly sure this was taken off right back when the oil strainer was refitted and forgotten about thus causing the engine to get in the state it's in now.

At this time the car runs rough when cold and smooths out a little after its warm. No warning lights are on and the computer diagnostic is clear. I've calculated I'm running too rich and getting 22 mpg.

I'm constantly getting engine knock but this completely goes if I unplug the intercooler air mixture sender unit.

Ok, you have all the evidence, can someone help me solve the running issue.
