What Year Was The Pre 2Ad Engine 6 Gear Diesel?

Bit confused here....can someone confirm when the pre 2AD engine was introduced and had 6 gears?

Not sure excatly what model that was. The 4.2 2lt diesel had only 5 gears, right?

Don't think there was a pre-2AD engine with a 6 speed gearbox.

In the Rav the 2AD was from very late 2005.. I think it was a 2.0 before that in the 4.2...... Not sure about the gear count though..

Yes, 4.2 was 5 speed 2.0l (1CD-FTV) diesel (cam belt).

6 speed didn't appear until 4.3, which has always been the 2.2D
