2002 Cdt220 Avensis: Body Electrical Problems

Hi all,

I have a year model 2002 D4D Avensis (CDT220). I am encountering a few mildly annoyances with this car:

  • “Rear room light” is never coming on
  • “Front personal light” is not coming on when doors open. “Room light” is fine and “front personal light” comes on with when using the ON switch
  • Electrical sunroof is not working at all

Regarding the rear room light, I mesured voltage to the plug when the “luggage compartment door courtesy switch” is pressed (ie boot is closed) and I get 0.00V. When the “luggage compartment door courtesy switch” is not pressed anymore (ie boot is open), I am getting 0.95V. I suspect I should be getting 12V and I can't understand why I am getting this odd voltage. I checked the lamp and it's fine, I checked the continuity for the lamp holder and it seems kosher.

I didn't check anything else because I don't have the required toold nor the courage to take the car apart. I'm fairly inexperienced in this field and would like to avoid a mess.

Any suggestions?

I fixed the boot light, there was a corroded ground connector.

I checked the continuity of the sliding roof switch and it seems to be fine but it has no power.
