Miserable Administrators And Car Values ...

I'll probably get banned from the Toyota forum completely now, but I am rather annoyed that when I ask for a value of my car (when I've contributed good content/answers in the past), a rude administrator just removes my posts and doesn't even have the decency to mail me and explain why .. I've even PM'd them and they won't answer ...

OK, on my first post I gave my mobile number in case anyone is interested in buying my old Celica, but the second one I hoped I had kept strictly to forum rules ..

Well I hope whoever removed it (& I could say this in a rude way, like my grandfather would have!) - has a blockage in their anal tract that doesn't let them pass anything for the next week ...

Thanks to all the decent people on this forum - goodbye ;-)

To me that reads like you are trying to sell on TOC without being a paying member. That is against the rules.

OK, I made a mistake on my first post - why delete the second one? I'm just trying to get a value on my car so I know at what price to advertise it at ..

There are plenty of ways to get a valuation, posting up your phone number and telling people you are selling it is not the way to go. I see lots of threads with cars for sale etc. it is against the rules to sell on TOC unless a paid up member, the mods remove such posts without any notice whatsover, it is not fair to paid up members to allow unpaid advertising. I wouldnt get too wound up over it, just enjoy the forum for what it is

Kingo :thumbsup:

My last post did not advertise it for sale, I did not put my tel no on the ad - so why delete it?

How would you value it out of interest, working cars are straight forward, broken ones for spares/repairs are more difficult ?

REPOSTED FOR INFORMATION (ORIGINALLY POSTED 2008)

We have very strict rules about advertising on our message-boards.

Paid members may advertise their personal property for sale in the "For Sale" section of the forum. All adverts will be moved to the "For Sale Archive" section after three months (or sooner if the item is sold and the thread has been updated). This also includes posting requesting valuations of their property. For car valuations please seek advice here: http://www.parkers.co.uk

Authorised Traders may advertise their products and / or services in their allocated section(s) of the message-boards. Authorised Traders must follow Trading terms and conditions.

All unauthorised advertising or soliciting will be removed without explanation and without notice. This includes, but is not limited to;

* directing members to external car club websites.

* directing members to external websites.

* advertising in signatures.

* using a thread to indirectly advertise or praise a product (unless the post is a personal recommendation based on personal use).

* placing commercial hyperlinks over pictures.

* posting of referral, affiliate or any commission generating links.

Persistent unauthorised advertising or soliciting may result in a removal of your membership of TOC, on either a permanent or temporary basis

The TOC moderation team may at its absolute discretion, remove or edit any post, signature or profile that it interprets to be unauthorised advertising or soliciting, with or without notice or explanation. If you are unsure about whether your post will be allowed under these rules, please seek guidance from a moderator before you post.
