A huge thank you to Neil, Sergio and Leo from Classic Soft Trim for the new sunroof in my iQ. They did an outstanding job on everything from scheduling to installation to delivery.

The sunroof slides quietly and smoothly. Opens all the way or stops at any point you wish and it vents. The sunshade is factory color matched. It closes automatically when the ignition is turned off.

I'm extremely please with this addition to the iQ and would recommend adding one to your iQ as well.

Some pics and a video...

Very nice, Looks like a factory fit and with the glass sliding under the roof lining makes a very clean installation.

Love it. :)

Very nice install Taz. The jury is out with me on sunroofs. I would not have one myself

I love the idea of a sunroof, Lighter interior, wind in your hair, less buffeting than having the windows down but after owning a Range Rover that had a leaking sunroof and drain pipes that clogged once a year soaking the interior, I'm not so sure I would fit one either.

If I lived in California however, I'd be more tempted.... :)

It's a So Cal thing for sure. There are four drains on the sunroof so I'm thinking I should be ok with the little bit of rain we get. It also has a lifetime warranty on parts and installation.

Shame they left all those stickers on the windscreen :D: :D: :D:

Where I live, those stickers are illegal and would welcome a hefty fine.

Very nice - so does the roof retract the whole way was in the video is only goes half way back.

Would love to get something like that, or a fabric full length (like the Fiat 500 'convertible')

I would have thought a full Webasto is not an option* due to the strength bars in the roof. If you look at the picture below, it looks like the sunroof is fitted between them.

*Unless you want to spend a fortune on strengthening like they do for a roof chop.

It's a pity sunroofs are very rarely an option these days but that is an excellent job! Does it have the rim to catch drips and drainage holes?

How much was it??

One of the things I'd miss if I traded in my Yaris is a sunroof (Or moonroof as the manual amusingly calls it ) as none of the newer models have one :(

Looks very nice, but I do have the wind deflectors and they work quite well. I have an electric sunroof on my Nissan Navara and hardly use it. I don't even slide back the sun shade, so even though I might be temped if they were in the UK, it would probably be a waste of money. My wife has the Fiat 500c if I want wind in my hair.

Retail cost is around $1400 us installed.

The stickers on the windows aren't illegal here, and the more stickers on the window, the more money left in my pocket. Thank you sponsors!

The video shows how far back it goes. Due to the small size of the roof and the support beams it doesn't open all the way.

Just for comparison I found companies in the Uk offering a very similar tilt and slide, fully electric, under the roof lining option using a Webasto Hollandia 700 sunroof. http://sunroof.webasto.co.uk/products/roof-systems/hollandia-700.html

Sunroof itself is around £750 if you wanted to fit it yourself and I found companies offering fully fitted for between £900 and £1000 but final cost depends on vehicle, I didn't contact any for a firm quotation.

The other reason I am not keen on sunroofs is I don't like outside noise. So I never open my windows unless paying a toll or a need arises. I like my environment climate controlled and I don't want loads of insects and pollen coming in. My opinion of course

Webasto will not install this model on the iQ. They will only install the above roof models. Not sure whey it's a yes on the Toyota iQ and a no on the Scion.

I quite like the idea of a sunroof myself, but have to admit, I never used mine much no matter what car it was fitted to. Still, there's aonly a few of them that had Air-con, so would usually rather use that. There is also the passenger to consider, in my case, my wife isn't keen on a sunroof being open. The extra light that can be let in, especially in winter months is good as it helps lift ones mood a bit.

It's also so expensive to do to the iQ, and I have ther plans. First things first though is convincing my wife certain things are not only desired, they are 'needed.' Like some tasty alloys for summer use, with the regular wheel/winter tyre combo for, well, winter.

Unfortunately, I like the darker coloured wheels, like anthracite or black. She prefers the silver alloy colour. I was thinking of gold/copper and black to go with the Amethyst/Purple of our car.

What say you Dan?

http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/15_Inch_Konig_Twilite_Gold_Black_Alloy_Wheels__777 Something like these perhaps?

http://www.directalloys.co.uk/details6.asp/ProductID/750/sid/9/oz-allegerita-hlt-matt-black-18-alloy-wheel.htm Not cheap, but sooooo nice

http://www.directalloys.co.uk/details6.asp/ProductID/843/sid/12/inovit-blade-gloss-black-15-alloy-wheel.htm Actually, these would do the job.

Sorry, but how the heck did I get from sunroof to alloys? Oh yeah, it's not likely to happen scenario again.

Sorry Taz, this sould have been the first reply I made on your post. Liking it a lot. It suits your car well, but like others on here I'm not keen on a can opener being taken to my car. Everything is so restrictive in this country too. You've got to tell the Insurance people, DVLA-Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority, your Granny, your Mum, the Pope... sheesh! So, it kind of defeats those of us with a weak constitution before we even get to the parting of money from wallet stage.

Then there is the warranty. Those buggers will try anything to not pay for something covered on warranty. I can see it now, Speaking to Mr. T., 'The interior mirror fell off...' Mr. T., 'That's because you had a sunroof fitted, so it's not possible for us to fix it for free sir...' All said with a cheesy smile... Okay, so it may not be true, but you know what I mean?

Your's however is very nice, and in sunny SoCal, suited. Question, why is that some in the US call it a Moon Roof? Is that for the Werewolves?
