Hi folks

a newbie here , and I'm proud to say I have now purchased my 3rd toyota . The all new yaris 1.33. My wife currently drives our 2 year old auris and my eldest daughter now drives my old Avensis. I have been more than happy with each drive and will continue to purchased Toyota from now on . Okay I admit they are expensive to purchased , but what peace of mind knowing they are a quality product . My only gripe would be the amount of road noise that can be heard between the diffrent models and the indicators failing to cancel ( espc when taking a left ) Other than that I am happy with the daily commute i make to my workplace ( approx 30 miles from home ).

I don't know if this is the right place to ask or not and hopefully someone will gave me guidence , but my daughter's car ( Avensis saloon D4D, is sadly starting to show it's age and currently is lacking somewhat in power. Has taken it to the local garage, and they have told her the ERG vavle could be faulty and either need replacing or just might get away with decoking it. Turbo was checked and seems to be fine albeit I don't think they have done a thourgh check on it. Car is smoking but seems to be a light grey in colour , so I don't suspect anything serious . That said can anyone steer me in the right direction as to what should be checked. Sadly my daughter only does short journeys daily , so that's why I am of the thinking that the car needs a good decoke . Any idea's would be greatly appriciated

Hello and welcome Stevie,

Maybe an idea to just take the car for a "run", at work we often left dervs idol for a long time before we MOT them. Some we even take for a quick run just to clear them out.

Hope someone else can give you some more advice.
