Timing Belt Renewal

hello guys,

new member here, i have a 03 avensis d4d mk2 and is there any info on changing the timing belt, i might have a go myself but when i read up on it, it says sst tools. can you get round these tools or even purchase them, anybodygot any real photo's . finally when i do research on the net, the prices vary a lot on these timing kits. any help would be great. cheers james

Hi James,

You can get a full kit for £130 and I paid £70 labour to my local garage - apparently it's quite a big job so not for someone with my level of expertise - if you feel up to it I'm sure I've seen clips on youtube for diy - Good luck

thank you for replying Maj, the local mr t wants 285 to do it. seen kits for 135-155 then the labour, and welll i like a challenge, but could be biting of more than i can chew! just to save 130 ish. plus if i mess it up i'll end up crying i think. cheers
