Getting fed up of this question being asked every week so:

The GT/Glanza being an import is subject to a wide range of insurance figures. Insurance companies often give an "import only" premium which can be 100% more than an equivalent UK car if there was such a thing...

The insurance group they quote can be anything form 8 to 16 with the "import only" premium on top.

Some people are paying upwards of £ 2000 for Starlet Turbo insurance, third party, fire & theft - because they're usually younger drivers, in an imported car, thats quite fast...

Places to try are:

Elephant (you will have to phone though)

Tesco's (same as above)

Adrian Flux

Bell direct

Footman james

Keith Michaels

Simon (cheers Andrew)

The same is basically true of Seras.

Also, avoid using the internet for car insurance. !!!

Visit the insurance company or ring up. Internet sites give you a price for cover, but there is no-one to negotiate a deal with.

The only people who gave me a quote on my modified imported Glanza V were Adrian FLux. And it was a very good quote. So that's all I got to say about that.

just got a quote off elephant for £3830 which is a joke lol, no way am i paying that!

I am 22 female, 2NCB with pass plus, got a quote from elephant for £670 full com, but Diamond quoted me £640 full com.

Norwich union don't deal with anyone under 25 with a turbo.

The group can be between something like 9-16 i think...

Hi, i just bought a starlet gt so ive just gone through this whole insurance thing! Im 21, been driving for 2 years but on my mums insurance so no no claims discount and im paying just short of £1000 per year with the AA insured by zurich insurance. I think its quite reasonable really.

To find my quote i just went to autotrader.co.uk and let them search for quotes for me (it helps if you have the reg number). It takes about 5 mins!
