Hi

I have a 08 avensis tr, 103k just had it serviced. Recently i noticed that when accelerating from 3000 revs upwards in 3rd and 4th gear its holding back jerking for acceleration. Could it be egr?? I think it may be MAF sensor,, does anyone have any idea?

The power loss in high gears only ,,,I always use Vpower diesel. Someone told me a cabbie in fact that if I diluted 5% ULP with diesel and revved it on moter way for about 10 mins it may solve problem...??

cheers

Definately don`t put any petrol in the tank , try a can of BG244

Was the fuel filter changed at the service ?

As Phil has said theres many reasons including the MAF and EGR.

Try the simplest items first.

1 clean maf sensor...10min job at the most

2 clean the egr valve and make sure the valve plunger moves freely up and down, this is the critical part and is more important than the actual removal of all the soot deposits. 1 hr job to do but well worth the effort.

Lots of threads on here ref cleaning egr and Maf sensor

Please keep us informed of any progres
