Hi everybody.

I just bought a Surf SSRX 1991, diesel 2.4, auto.

Can anyone give me the following info:

1)

What are the recommended service intervals?

2)

The cambelt was supposedly changed at 80,000 kilometres.

When is the next cambelt change due?

3)

What does the ECT button do?

4)

Driving reasonably gently, what is my likely fuel consumption going to be, in mpg?

cheers

Hi everybody.

Can anyone give me the following info:

1)

What are the recommended service intervals?

5,000km

2)

The cambelt was supposedly changed at 80,000 kilometres.

When is the next cambelt change due?

Should be every 100,000km

3)

What does the ECT button do?

It's like a sports mode for the gear change holds the rev's a bit higher in each gear.

4)

Driving reasonably gently, what is my likely fuel consumption going to be, in mpg?

25-28 mpg.

cheers

thanks for info - you obviously know your Surfs.

I've never had a vehicle with overdrive before - for normal highway use and max fuel economy, I understand i should have the overdrive engaged all the time - would this then give me a display on the dashboard, or only when it's switched out?

Also can you recommend a source for Surf English version owner's manual?

A chum got one on eBay for £25 which I thought was a bit steep.

regards

The light comes on only when the overdrive is switched off, dont use it around town only on open road when doing more than about 40mph.

Yes £25 is steep for a book that tells you how to check the oil and change a light bulb,I have a manual if you realy want one,it looks brand new and came in a surf that I bought recently.

I assume that your in Sussex by your user name,Where are you based ?

Andy: I'm in Shoreham Beach.

Surf owner's manual would indeed be useful to a non-mechanical person like myself. Changing bulbs may be second nature to some drivers, tends to become a major drama for the likes of me.

Are you offering it for free, or what's the deal?

PS: what is the function of the small red button I have just spotted on the forward edge of the plate at the bottom of the automatic transmission shift control?

It has Japanese characters next to it, so I'm stumped....

best regards

(If the manual is available I can supply snail-mail address)

The little red button is to release the gear selector when the keys are out and the engine is off, helps when working on the surf.

To be honest I have not even looked at the owners manual, only bought the surf the other week and have been busy sorting the engine, but if you want any more info on surfs you should have a look at these sites.
