First, pull out the center piece by grabbing the edges and pulling towards you...

Disconnect the two wire connections and set this piece aside...

Remove the head unit housing by pulling from the back, it will pop off with a small amount of force...

There are four 10mm bolts holding the head unit in place, remove all four bolts...

Then simply remove the head unit.

Installation is the opposite of removal.

Hi new to the forum, a bit of plastic broke off a mount for our external GPS system we use in our iQ 1.00 multidrive (my wifes car), this bit of plastic fell into the vent system.

Is removing the head unit housing the same for all models?

I got as far as taking the lower panel off but am struggling with the head unit housing.

Help! :D

Pull the lower triangle towards the rear of the car and it should pop off, then once the wire is disconnected do the same with the radio section. Hands firmly either side and pull towards the boot area.

Is it possible to install a 2 din toma cd player only headunit iq?

Is there a spare part for this in toyota?

Posted

its not exactly a 2x Din size which is a problem.

Also when removing the "Triangle " you may feel its not going to come off. When this unit is first removed, it can take a fair bit of effort and you may think its going to break but keep at it. You won't break it!!!

Also you can easily remove the front cover underneath the " Triangle" by pulling it taking care as at the bottom is the AUX power socket. You can unplug it and that gives you access to find whatever has dropped through the vents Either side of the "void" are 2 panels that can be moved/ removed giving total access to the "void" and of course it all clips back in place
