Interior Trim Removal

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am a proud new owner of a 59 plate white IQ2. Enjoying it so far!

I need to fit my Parrot MK6000 kit to the car do need to access the radio.

Can anyone give me an idiots guide to removing the trim on the centre console to access the radio so I can plug the Parrot in?

Thanks in advance.

Yep simply place yourself infront of the "V " A/C unit. Place your finger tips either side of the V and feel for a sort of cut out on the edge and grip it hard and pull towards you very hard it may seem it wont budge but give it all you got and 4 clips will give way and it will come off ( dont worry it wont break). Then if you have the tns510 put your hands behind the top cowling where the screen is and pull towards you and it will come off. The radio/nav is held in place by 10mm bolts

I have got the V out fine but I don't have the nav unit and cannot get the cd player/airbag bit off at all. Any clues?

Someone had this problem before. I think its just a case of moving the cowling either forward or backwards and locate the 10mm bolts and remove them

You are correct tarquin! Thank you so much.

For anyone else trying the same thing in the future:

1. Remove 2 10mm bolts (visible from having removed the V) - can leave loose if you cannot reach in to get them - don't worry they won't fall down any holes/gaps.

2. Pull the cowling towards you and it will come loose.

Thanks again tarquin - what response speed too!
