For a very long time I was told that my Previa CDX 2001 - Belgian import had only one aircon tap -high-side only(!) This is the one visible on the right-hand side when you open the bonnet.

I took it to 3 garages - 2 of which are "specialist" air-con engineers (I don't like using the inverted quotes but on this occasion they are befitting the story) who checked it over independently of each other and all stated, "Yep, just a high-side tap... some vehicles nowadays have jus' one, y'know."

B*ll*cks!

After getting these specialists to find whatever leak is causing the aircon to discharge within a few weeks and having unnecessary "suspected" seals replaced I have discovered that the low-side tap sits on the near-side of the vehicle right down at the bottom with the connector facing down towards the road. You need to remove the plastic mud guard on the underside of the car to see it. The tap cannot be seen from any other position.

(I guess that'll learn me!)
