Squeaking Rear Shock & Leaking Injectors?

Own a 2007 Toyota Avensis 2.2 Turbo Diesel D4-D T4. And here are my problems...

I don't know if this is just a thing that happens with these cars, or if it is a problem. But around the injector seals there is fuel that is leaking and it's going all over the engine bay. I really don't think this is meant to happen as every time that you drive it, there is more and more of it. I was told that it could be the seals that were broken or worn. And that there might have been a re-call for this problem. I don't know if there was, but did anyone else have this problem?

This problem has been getting worse and worse over the past few weeks. Whenever you go over small or be it large bumps in the road surface, the rear left hand side squeaks. But going over these bumps, and ride towards the rear does seem to be more free and "bouncy".

I was wondering if it could be the shock absorber that is worn, or possibly the anti-roll links. I was wondering what people were thinking it could be, and if the same problem has happened to you.

Thank you in advance,

Kate.

[EDIT: I will post some pictures when I transfer them from my camera.]

hi

Sorry - no offends -- you have to inspect what is the injection parts life under the valves cover.

The most probably you should tight HP pipes connections to each fuel valve (injector)

But be sure your lube oil has not been diluted yet !!!! DO not drive to safe your diesel heart.

Revert with photos shortly

Cheers / Igor

I have read up on that and they're within the life. The engine was re-built a few months ago due to fuel burning problems (huge blue smoke coming from the exhaust), and the engine was re-built. I would have thought that they would have renewed the seals for the injectors. Also, the diesel is going all over the engine cover and fuel rail.

I am going to be checking this in a few days as I will have access to a ramp and will put it on there, and see what the problem is with the suspension and check over the injectors and everything whilst I have access.

I shall take some better quality pictures soon, but here are some.

[NOTE: There is diesel around the injectors, just the camera on my phone did not pick it up.]

" The engine was re-built a few months ago due to fuel burning problems (huge blue smoke coming from the exhaust)"

I suggest you have been having an oil burning issue instead of fuel -- correct?

" the engine was re-built. I would have thought that they would have renewed the seals for the injectors"

It might be they have not tighten injectors connections well -- it is a simple what can you find under the valve cover (photo is still missed). Injectors seals -- what did you mean ?? gaskets packing under each injector? Each HP fuel injection pipe has no any gaskets but only cove connection (pipe male end and female hole on the injector body. You have to inspect all parts under the valves cover first and shortly to prevent diesel leaks into the sump and diluting of lube oil leading to destroying of both bearings and crankshaft !!!!

" Also, the diesel is going all over the engine cover and fuel rail."

STOP driving and immediately open the valves cover otherwise all money spent for rebuilding would be for nothing !!!

be ready to change all lube oil in the sump.

regards / Igor

Kate, just take it back to the garage as you will have 12 months warranty on any work done by Toyota.

regards Pete.

Went into the Toyota garage the other day, and had a word with the service department. Booked in for Wednesday, and will all be sorted (hopefully).

The squeaking or squealing noise was the brake pad indicators. I did not realize that these cars had them. But they will be sorted at around the same time. It's just the pads getting to low, and the warning indicator was catching on the disc and making that noise.

And I thought it was coming from the suspension
