Hey...

Quick couple of questions for other IQ owners...

1. Would you consider a "pollen filter" and "cabin air filter" to be one and the same thing?

2. When you have had your 2nd year/full service did you get it changed?

All input is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Tim

It is the same thing.

When my previous IQ had it's 2 year service, I checked to see if the filter had been changed, it hadn't been, and asked the service manager why it had not been.

He said it is only changed if it needs to be changed (I know for a fact they never checked mine to see if it needed to be changed).

I am on a service plan so I don't know if I would have been charged for a new filter or not because they wouldn't expect to be asked whether they changed it.

I believe it is supposed to be changed at the 2year, 20000miles service and non service plan owners probably have it in the quoted price as a change item.

Whether or not it is changed is another matter.

Cheers John. I was pretty sure they were the same.

We had our second service today and they rang me up at work trying to sell me one. We got 3 years free servicing with the car so I will give them a ring tomorrow.

If it's part of the service schedule then they should replace it, as they are at a guess billing for the item.

I bought my iQ last September/October and it had already had its second service. I have to admit I have taken the main air filter out shortly after buying the car just to check and it was dirty as hell, and this was circa 500 miles after that service! So not really sure it's been done.

My 3 year service is due next month, so will have the full works done.

Make sure "the full works" does get done!

I have a service plan and the car as just come back from a 22k servive. Said they changed pollen/cabin filter and air filter. Well on checking i still have the copy's in there as the original ones were in a bad way when i bought ther car and it had a date stamp in the service book as having a service only 3 days earliet so never ever trust a dealer
