Just had a 50,000 mile service on the gen3. Cost £119 all in and they did use the correct oil. :)

Just tried the above link for fixed-price servicing, (Gen III 50k service). it initially quoted me £119, but then when I went carried on through to my local dealer in Swansea the price changed to £164! Perhaps it is a fixed price, but not nationally?

Bear in mind that the fixed price quote is only for the items that don't require consumables.

A number of items on the service schedule are:

"Inspect/Check xxxxxx - replace as necessary." (e.g. air conditioning filter, transmission oil, brake fluid, clutch fluid, etc)

If any of these are judged to need replacing or topping up, then these are all extra consumable costs.

My last service was a "Full +" and still required an extra £150 of consumables, the biggest being the Aircon service.

I felt a bit ripped, even though it was all discussed before the service, surely they can do better than this, especially on the internet? Wouldn't be that hard to have a car and service interval specific web app that was able to go through and come up with a final quote price that includes everything required for a particular service interval.

And don't forget all the other general items that they find are wrong (tyres, windscreen washer fluid, Wiper Blades, etc) and need to be replaced.

Sorry this was not supposed to be a moan, but more of a heads-up of what to expect. I guess I could not help having a bit of a rant, but at the same time a desire for a better experience at the service dept.

Oh and I nearly forgot, the pièce de résistance, the free courtesy car that costs £20. They think they're so clever, oh but car is free - however, there's a £20 "administration" charge. Bah, I don't mind paying but, please, just be honest and say that you can have a courtesy car for £20. Do they really think anybody is taken in? That was a moan, sorry.

Yes it appears, everything is extra chargeable except the engine oil & filter.

The Sheffield Toyota bodyshop only charge an optional £10 a day for insurance on the courtesy car to cover the excess on the insurance.
