Destination Disappears On Satnav 04 Tspirit

1. I have a 2004 TSpirit and the destination function disappears and reappears on the display. This seems to happen more fequently if I'm driving. I'm wondering if this is a disk or software problem (I don't seem to have any DVD disk in the car) or if it's a loose connection or something else? It never seems to lose connection to the satellite while I'm actually using it to navigate, but often when I go to put in a destination, the destination option doesn't appear. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem?

2. Also, I think I'll probably need to update the disk as it seems to take the long route sometimes even though there's been a new road in place for a couple of years. I see there's a thread below about new DVD's. I take it the most recent DVD would be the one I'd need to buy? Does it need to be model-specific (ie for 2004 models) or can I just buy the latest for "Avensis" Thanks in advance. Kev
