I have recently purchased a 1998 Avensis 2.0 GLS and have been very happy with it until recently when the clock and tripometer reset themselves every time i turn the engine off.

If anyone has had a similar experience and knows how to cure it i would be very grateful ! .....

Hi, Yep, I had same problem with mine a while ago - loose connection on pcb - it needs constant live feed for memory. Had it fixed under warranty thankfully as they booked four hours labour just to strip and find cause! If you have any warranty cover try and get it fixed otherwise it will be expensive!

It's basically losing power to the system. If you disconnect the Battery you will get the exact same symptoms.
