Blinkers Dead

I'm not really familiar with the car-related vocabulary in English so my apologies if some of the words are not the right ones, hopefully you will undersatnd my problem.

I've got some kind of recurrent issue on my Verso (bought in Oct 2010), for a yet-unknown reason there suddenly are no blinkers on my car anymore.

First of all, you have to know that at the time I ordered this car, I asked it to be equipped with a trailer hitch + electrical outlet.

The issue started during winter 2010-2011, a few months after I acquired the car; at that time the technician said the fuse was dead, but as the problem occured 30 mins later again on my way to the office, he then said that the problem was coming from the module that provides electricity to the trailer, he suspected he wasn't properly tightly sealed, and some molten snow/moisture could have penetrated this module, leading to a short circuit.

A few months after changing this module, I connected the trailer to the car and it appeared there was no light at all on the trailer. Toyota technicians initially said that the wiring on the trailer was guilty, but at the time I brought both car and trailer to the garage they then said that they had found some corrosion along the wiring to the trailer hitch so they replaced it. In addition I had to go once again yesterday morning in order to replace the outlet as the cap that protects it had disappeared, leading to some corrosion here again.

Yesterday afternoon, as I drove back home, blinkers have gone again although they were working fine 2 minutes before?!

I have the feeling that the technicians at the garage where I usually go, are obsessed with the module that provides electricity to the trailer, while they might perhaps have overlooked something else.

Any clue what the problem could be?

Has anyone experienced such a problem and if so, was the root cause identified and once for all resolved?

Many thanks by advance for your help
