All,

Been offered a set on 17s on 205 x 45 tyres, my Yaris is a Mk1 2003. Any ideas if they would fit? They are a 4 stud with 100 pcd but not sure about clearance as current tyres are 175.

Anyone tried this big? Any thoughts appreciated.

Why would you want to? Large diameter wheels with low profile tyres can make a car feel somewhat different! They won't make the car go any faster. It's unlikely to corner any better. Most of us don't get near the maximum grip of our cars. Modern ones anyway. You also need to make sure the overall diameter of the wheel is the same as the one being replaced. The gearing could be affected. In my opinion they can look really silly anyway. That could be down to my age, 64. Worked in car repair and maintenance trade for almost 30 years so driven all types of car, good and bad! Regards.

You will of course have to inform the insurance company.

And be prepared for an increase in fuel used.
