3 Points For Stopping On Zig Zags

What a fine example of a governent employee he was... pulled my mate over and gave him 3 points and a £60 quid fine for stopping on zig zag section of lights to do a U-Turn on a dead street at 12:30 in the morn. The fool couldnt even remember the code for the "crime" and to boot, he had parked on a bus stop himself whilst proceeding to apprehend my mate who clearly must be a hardened criminal for commiting such a despicable act.

Id imagine most police are decent people to motorists and fortunatley I am not prejudgmental...(unless you wear burberry and drive a corsa) so most likely it was just a crazed loner cop who is surely an outcast within his local nick.

I want to ask...does my m8 have a good chance in if he appeals on this?

Nah...not much chance of an appeal. doesn't matter that time of night it is..or how quiet it is, a Road Traffic infrindgment is just that.

Also....copper can park where the hell he likes...if it's in the line of duty...and it's not causing a dangerous obstruction.

At a rough estimate I'd say no chance mate, the law states that you must not stop there unless in an emergency, I'm not being sanctimonious, it is what I was told when I got the fine and an endorsment for the same crime 20 years ago......erm 23 years actually  only I got a 30 quid fine then which represented half a weeks wages to me, so tell ya mate, I think he got off lightly

The burbs or 'neds' as they are known around my way are a bit more classy and have corsas. The novas are rare and tend to belong to the old skool big fat bully boy neds who are 32 odd years old, always have a 15 year old bammy girlfriend in the car and still cruise around with the 17 year old bams who happen to be the only people that give them any respect in life.

Thanks for the feedbak on the points. Its a shame...youd want to lose the points due to speeding or something...never realised you could potentially get banned from parking on zigzags. My m8 is a top dude but its his own damn fault tho I pulled up next to him and told him to turn up the road or something ...man I was sooo damn right. Too bad he didnt listen

it's a sixty quid fine for having your foglights on when it isn't foggy, too.

I know a couple of people who have caught with that one

Me too. It's a real pet hate of mine. Easy to do though, except in my car!

To ensure I don't become 'that which I loathe', I've rigged the foglight switch with some control electronics so that when the headlights go out, the switch resets itself so that next time the lights are turned on the fogs don't light.

i nearly got done for that one.

the switch for my front fogs is right by my right knee - im constantly flicking them on & off when i get in or out of my car.

luckily the copper had never seen a Cynos before so i took him for a drive & he was happy.

I avoided a speeding tug the same way. When the Rozzers saw the doors open their attention changed somewhat. It's good to be unusual !

(once got stopped for speeding on a mountain bike though. that was a laugh)

Reminds me of someone I worked with getting pulled up for sticking to the speed limit. It was 4am and the police thought it was dodgy behaviour somebody driving carefully at that time in the Morning.

i gotta say the points on the license were a bit harsh, fine was 2 i guess...

even tho the law does state **** like that i reckon the law should only apply if its to benefit the "people" not the govm't.

Ne1 c that thing about fittin cameras the birds to catch speeding motorists.

Being tested somewhere near london.

Should drive in Hull

You only get six months for decapitating a pedestrian!!!!!!!!

Then again, if you've got a fetish on cleaning cars, you get six years???

Ain't our system wonderful 4_2_101.gif4_2_101.gif4_2_101.gif

That was an April fool. I think it was in the Sun.

If cutting edge technologh was available to the police, they would have uniforms that pastry crumbs didn't stick too.

In the 1960's though, there was an experiment in London where policemen on traffic duty wore blue flashing lights on their helmets. (just like an old Kenny Everett Sketch). This was seriously considered to be a part of the uniform, but was eventually dismissed due to the fact that Battery technology at the time was poor and the power packs were too heavy and bulky.

guess i got fooled then, haha, i didnt even think about the date, but thats cos i read the mag l8r at a m8's. thank god for that!

sayin that i managed to get a £30 fine 2 week's running last month, how pants is that!

One for "aparently" parking in a taxi rank, ven tho there was a sign that sed parking rite next 2 where i was parked, just don't have the time to appeal it tho.

And the other for going thru a bus lane which was had a big sign saying bus lane only type thing. Problem is tho u can't see the sign til ur in the bus lane, surely that a bit stingy aint it? they should let u know b4 u enter it...

WY police musta made shedlaods that day, it was literally 3 cars > ticket, those who whent by during this were lucky, then them 3 out, and straight away another 3 cars in. This was going on all day.
