Picnic Abs Ecu Location - Can't Find It!

Hi all - I have a great 1998 Toyota picnic (petrol, 2.0 litre, automatic, in the UK) with an ABS light that stays on most of the time, with the ABS cutting in at slow speeds. We have had all the sensors checked by a local independent garage and they couldn't find any problems, so I am thinking that this might be the ABS ECU. Can anyone tell me where I can locate this unit on the vehicle as although I've looked I can't figure out where it is? Also, as a simple amateur is this something I can actually take off to be tested? All answers gratefully received!
