Squeaky Rear Breaks 1996 101E Liftback Corolla

have replaced rear shoes a number of times during my ownership, when coming to a stop the brakes go squeak squeak, most annoying . i wonder if the fold over tabs on outer edgeof the shoes touch on the backing plate when pedal is depressed, but tried applying a little grease , seems to fix short term but is back pretty quickly.

Can anybody throw any light on this problem & how to fix ?? much appreciated.
