1998 Avensis Cranks But Does Not Firing Up, No Spark At The Ht Leads

Hi All

A few weeks ago I put up the above topic and got some good leads that enabled me to trouble shoot and eliminate suspected areas. The original problem still exists and I was wondering whether any body would know if I were to temporarily replace my ecu with a known working one whether I would have to code my existing key to it. If so what does it take to code the key to it without facing the main dealer. The second question is that if I were replace the ecu with a known working one that comes with a set of keys what else I would have to do to get my car to work again.

Is your car 1.8 or 2.0 litre?
