Having A Sat Nav Hardwired To A New Aygo

Hi, just ordered and due to recieve my second Aygo, however, I was looking to have a garmin power lead hardwired so as to free up the 12v socket. What I would like to ask is: Is it advisable on a wiring safety point (done by showroom prior to owning the vehicle), will it be a security risk as the lead may be visable to would be passing scumbags and finally is their a possibility of overloading the system if the radio is on an iPhone is being charged and the sat nav is on? any and all advise accepted. Why not buy a 12v splitter then you can easily remove evidence of your sat nav, after all windows cost more than most sat navs. :)
