Problem Downloading Phonebook Via Bluetooth

When I acquired my new Avensis tourer in January I successfully transferred my phonebook from my mobile to the car's phone memory. For some reason I am now unable to either transfer or update the phonebook via bluetooth. Despite following the manual procedure meticulously when I click the “Add to” option I receive the message that bluetooth has been disconnected, and as soon as I click the back button the connection is restored. I have consulted a dealer for help: we tried unsuccessfully to download his phonebook to my car and neither could we download his or my phonebook to a new Avensis in his showroom. The dealer has asked Toyota Technical support for help but has been told they are unable to offer any assistance. Has anyone here encountered this problem or have any suggestions as to what is going wrong?

I had a similar problem with my 2010 Avensis. When I initially acquired the vehicle I was able to successfully download the phonebook by bluetooth from that phone (a Sony Ericsson), but sometime later when I replaced the phone I was unable to do the same with the new phone (a Nokia). I wasn't happy but didn't investigate the issue any further.

Thanks for the feedback, I also have a Sony Ericsson but I have also tried a Samsung and the dealer tried with another make, which I can't recall, but the same problem was evident with all so I don't think it's a phone specific problem.

For my other car I have a reboot code for the navigation/phone system but I don't have one for the Avensis so I'm thinking of disconnecting the Battery to see if that resets the system, unless that is someone can provide an alternative reboot method.
