Scv Valves

Hi All

I have been having problems with my 01 D4D for quiet a while. I am loosing power and it will not rev past 3k.

I have got the codes read and it was P1229 which I think points to the SCV's

I usually take then out and clean them but I want a more permanent soultion as I dont want to damage the engine.

what I am wondering is are the SCV the same for all D4D engines.

Mine is a very early one with the Air operated EGR and not the electronic one found in the later 01's

can I get a pair from any engine and will the work, Failing that is the guy that sells them here still around and what price are they,

Mr T in Ireland wanted 6K for a pump and didn't even know what the SCV's were

Thanks

Trevor

Hi trevor,

i was reading your story and i had a simuilar problem on my verso 2.0 d4d 2005.After an replacement on130000kms by an official dealer (450 euros!)they went again on150000 kms.So i looked around on the net and found on the german eBay.de someone who sold replica scv valves manufactured by ashuki for only 159 euro and delivered on my doorstep for 179euro.it took me an hour to install them and the car has now 165600 kms on the clock and i never had a problem since so......

the only thing i'm not sure about is your faultcode because i used to have the code p0627 an d not the 1229 like you?Your faultcode is more in the direction off common rail pressure but you could give it a try

grtz Timo

I have got the codes read and it was P1229 which I think points to the SCV's --- YOU MUST BE 100% SURE

I usually take then out and clean them ---WHY ???!!!--- WHAT DID YOU CLEAN? IN DETAILS PLEASE

but I want a more permanent soultion as I dont want to damage the engine. ---- THE SCV ENABLES DIESEL TO BE SUCKED INTO THE PUMP AND NOTHING MORE

what I am wondering is are the SCV the same for all D4D engines. ---- THE WORKING PRINCIPLE IS THE SAME BUT DESIGN DEMANDS VERIFICATION OF SUITABILITY.

regards
