I haven't yet picked up my new Aygo Fire but I would like to ask if there was any way of locking the doors from inside the Aygo? On my T-Pot Yaris the doors lock automatically when the ignition is turned on (anti-carjacking feature) but there is also the obligatory lock/unlock switch on the front door panel.

I don't think the switch is there on the Aygo but have any Aygo owners found a way of locking the doors whilst driving. I'm not overly paranoid but I like the security of the Yaris knowing that no-one can climb into the passenger seat or open the boot because they're all locked :)

Use your right elbow.

Press down on the door lock button near the rear bottom corner of your window.

Central locks all doors.

Pull it up again to unlock all doors.

Ian.

EDIT: Don't know, but the key fob may also still lock the doors.

Have never tried this inside the car with the engine running.

Cheers Ian. I didn't want to sound like a numbskull by mentioning it, but that doesn't work on the Yaris so I assumed it wouldn't on the Aygo! However, if I can lock the doors in this way then I'm happy with that!

Cheers!

As above, just push the pin down,

However,

I'm sure there is a kit on the market that would do it as soon as you start the car, there's a kit for everything else!!

Key fob doesn't lock the car when it's in the ignition (I tried) and then I read the part in the manual which says that it doesn't, and advises against trying.

By the way, where do you live to justify this fear of random people getting in your car?

England ?

At least it's not Scotland :)

Or Wales :)

Oi! Wales is brilliant ...... Although I don't live there anymore....but still!

Hahaha!

It's not an irrational fear, and I've never encountered a problem like that in all my years of motoring. It's only because it now feels somewhat weird to travel in a car whose doors aren't locked in the same way that it was somewhat weird to travel in a car whose doors locked automatically. At least at first anyway... I suppose it's just something I've got used to :)

I live in England (North Notts) but will be travelling to North Wales for holiday next month - my favourite holiday destination!
