Avensis Air Bag Light

hi im new to the club and was wondering if anyone can help me with a fault on the airbag system on my 2001 avensis 1.8 vvti the air bag light is on all the time and the fault code comes up as short on d squib can anyone please tell me what this could be thanks

D squib is drivers airbag actuator. Check the YELLOW plug behind the cowls on the steering column. If that is o.k. follow the big yellow wire and check for further connections!

...and remember to always disconnect the Battery for five minutes and leave it that way,

before tinkering with airbags.

Generally dat code is a break in the spiral cable behind the steering wheel disconect the Battery and remove the airbag and disconnect the yellow connector under the wheel and carry out a resistance check lookin for open circuit or short wire to wire

thanks for all your help ive tested it today and found a short between the two wires for the airbag in the squib ive ordered one and hopefully that will cure it
