Head Gasket Damage Due To Carbon Stamping. Toyota Unwilling To Give Go

Hi all,

I have a 08 Avensis TR with 88,000 miles and noticed that it was losing water coolant. I got it tested and it was the head gasket. I've found out that it's a comman problem now with the Avensis and is called Carbon Stamping. When brought to Toyota in Belfast, they are 'unable to extend goodwill due to the service history'. There is a stamp missing at the 30,000 miles juncture. I've supplied proof of the Service, not Toyota but with genuine Toyota parts, the 40,000 and 50,000 mile are with Toyota.

On average, when the car was tested by Toyota, it had was serviced on Average every 10,997 miles or every 5 months. I've all documentation for the car down to the fuel consumed.

This does not change Toyotas goodwill policy. After 60,000 miles it's a goodwill gesture.

I would be thankfull to hear from anyone else who has experienced this problem, and how they got on and what their service history was like.

You can get me on email toyotasgoodwll@gmail.com and I will reply

Thanks
