Hi to you all.

Have just phoned about the car below (see link) hope it works.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201225475810549/sort/default/usedcars/colour/white/model/iq/make/toyota/page/1/radius/1500/postcode/nn128hq/keywords/satnav?logcode=p

I asked for a trade in Price, for the model above , 2011 Toyota iQ 3-Dr 1.33 VVT-i ³ 3dr.

My trade in is a.

IQ,2 , in White on a 59 plate with 17,000 on the clock.

with Plum Leather, Sat-Nav, I Sport pack , I Style pack , and I Urban Pack, ie Rear Paking Sensors.

They come back and said need to find £4000.

Ouch !

Ouch indeed , typical dealers always give bottom book , personally I think the white one is overpriced a little but thats dealers again . Probably better to sell yours private and get a little more money unless you are planning to finance with the dealer on the balance . I also am not keen on that new white interior plastics looks like a nightmare to keep clean. Good luck what ever you do just be cautious of dealers

Out of interest why would you want to swap for a car which is nearly identical with higher running costs and a large initial outlay?

Why not, i have the cash

Ha ha well said I totally agree I got an IQ3 cos I could afford it to running costs aint much more and its hardly a bank breaker is it and I like to have the best I can afford.

Plus I went for the 1.3 engine because I have a citroen C1 with the same 1.0 engine as in the iq 1 & 2, had it from new just turned 2 years old with nearly 40000 on the clock and it sounds ropey to be honest so with the high mileage im doing i thought the 1.3 would be a little stronger

I would have thought the running costs would be minimal. You still pay tax on the 59 plate. There is a 2 year age gap between new and old, the iQ2 has 17000 mile as opposed to the lower mileage of the iQ3. Plus he likes the white colour. I would sell privately myself.

If you have the cash then go for it, I thought you were highlighting how much the dealer was ripping you off and asking the forum for advice.

Tax on the IQ2 is free, I've not seen multidrive mentioned on his current car, also he has a white car at the minute unless I've misread.

..............................................I also am not keen on that new white interior plastics looks like a nightmare to keep clean.

Without wishing to split hairs, the interior is a very light grey which when combined with the black interior trim looks fantastic. I don't dislike the plum interior but in my opinion the black/grey interior, particularly with the new look plastics, lifts the car to another level. As for being a nightmare to keep it clean, I'm not sure what you mean. The grey parts of the trim so far haven't attracted any grime and they seem OK to just wipe clean. However if you are likely to drive your IQ wearing muddy wellies and with oil stained hands maybe avoid the grey
