Front Disc Brake Noisy On 2011 Rav 4 Gx

I drive a 2011 Toyota Rav 4 GX,it only got 24,000 Km on the clock, but the front disc brakes makes a grinding noise, same like when the discs pads are totally worn,a metel on metal sound. I have checked the discs pads myself and found that there is 9 mm material left of the disc pad lining.

New discs pad lining is 10,5 mm thick.I see that there are a lot of these problems on your forums. Are there anything that i can do to this problem.

Sounds like maybe dirt or something trapped. Normally I would suggest removing the pads to check, clean and re-grease everything, but as you are in warranty you might want to seek the opinion of your garage first ?

May well be a stone or something trapped, easiest thing is take the wheel of and have a good clean around before you do anything else.

You can hear the pads on mine too. They are quite abrasive but it keeps the discs clean and true. Just ignore it.

If it's as loud as the wear indicators, that's not normal. Remove each wheel and turn the rotors by hand. Look for a pebble lodged between the dust shield and rotor disc.
