Engine Trouble

Hi,

I am a new member to this forum.

I own a Corolla Verso 2008, diesel with 60,000 km on the clock and yesterday I took the car for the latest check up.

I was schocked to be told that the car needs a new engine due to an oil leak?

Now, I do not mind having a new engine as the car is under warranty, but we are talking about a 3.5 year old car that I have owned from new.

Also, they want it booked for a week at the Toyota garage, but do not want to give me a courtesy car-is this not bad customer service?

I live near Rome, Italy by the way( expat).

I wonder if anyone knows about any recalls relating to engine trouble?
