Thudding Noise

hi i need some help please. i was in the aygo cornering fairly hard left and there was a crack sound and when i straightened the wheels a thudding /dull knocking noise . its there in a straight line at all speeds and more so turning left, i can feel it through the floor pan too. i removed the shock and all looks perfect and replaced the top mount rubber. if i hold the driveshaft there is slight up and down play gearbox end and none the wheel end but i can slide the shaft sideways about 10mm . im not sure what else to do has any one any idea thank you. jim
