hi all

I have a 2008 2.0 d4d saloon 130k, when i rev the engine while stopped i get a vibration from the engine at 1700-1800 revs while i have clutch in or outit it still vibrates, its as if i have a wheel slightly out of balance/wobble only its coming from the engine bay

i had a new head and short block at 60k put in under warrany due to possible over heating problems

the car drives and starts perfectly fuel economy is excellent and no smoke under heavy acceleration, car is well serviced the only item that will need changing is the clutch release bearing, its beginning to rattlle a bit

Please Any thoughts are most welcome

ok now reply:

- condition of EGR holes (carbon deposits)

- SCV -- check with their solenoid coils resisance + ask MrT what should be when new

- these rpm might signal you have minor issue with un equal diesel injection and one og two cyls are over fueled. -- the result is vibration -- unstable detone running

Igor

Hi igormus

Re Egr valve....last week cleaned myself after 10k heavy soot deposit. The 3 holes were 80% blocked.i also cleaned MAF sensor, now car pulls like it did when it was new,but the vibration is still there for the last few months,i did have a problem starting the car would not hold revs so I added fuel/ injector cleaning and it now starts first turn

As regards your other queries I will investigate more

Many thanks

check with:

EGR ---- stem slides well and easily

SCV - resistance (when minor deviation -- to be changed)

VSV --- to be checked

Turbo --- all vanes must be easy rotated on their axises

Vacuum attachment to turbo -- check with easiness of moving of a link that govern vanes.

Injectors --- all of them must to give an equial diesel portion per cycle. IN details ---- even though this portion in un equal -- the max pressure when diesel ignited is different resulting vibration origination and disballance
