T180 Embarassing Regenerations - Anyway Of Reducing Or Stopping Them

So I read the article and I see that AA say that there is SOME regeneration occurring around every 300 miles in SOME circumstances with SOME systems.

I also happened to ask about DPF generation today in a Vauxhall dealership and in a Mercedes Dealership whle checking out new vehicles and they both indicated that as long as you spend at least 20 mins at a reasonably fast speed/rpm each week (e.g. Pretty typical driving for most car drivers who are not in a city 100%) then the DPF gets cleaned up and doesn't need to go through a FULL regeneration process.

 gotta have the last word ?

I`m well aware of the DPF process and according to your own words, its yourself who isn`t.

If you read my original post properly I was explaining to the OP a normal scenario for the DPF regeration process because he was finding his `embarrassing` and it sounded to me as if the regen. was being interrupted.

End.

Just an update.

Put the tin of BG244 in the tank on Monday this week and now done approx. 220 miles. Been to Widnes and back today which was 168 miles with no sign of smoke. The car seems to be running a little smoother but the best bit is that my average MPG has gone up from the usual 32MPG to 37MPG after resetting it today before I set off. Never had average MPG this high before ever since I got the car. At the moment I am one happy chappy.

There is no doubt that BG244 does some good but as soon as ambient temperature regularly exceeds 15 degrees the mpg goes up anyway. Its hard to tell but you have got a good result anyway that is the main thing.
