01 D4D Access To Fuel Tank

Hi All

I want to access my tank to check for blockages and see if its full of gunk.

Can I access it from under the rear seats our is it a drop the tank job.

The car will not rev past 3k and is very jumpy to drive, it will not take the throttle at all.

I have given it a serivce and cleaned the SCV's I just want to check the tank before I order new SCV's

Hi,

You can access the fuel pump and filter from under the rear seat.

Maybe even inspect the interior of the tank, when you take the pump out.

Proper inspection and cleaning would require to drop the tank from underneath.

BTW the symptoms you describe could well be a blocked EGR though.

I would start with that, and inspect the fuel filter/water separator in the engine bay.
