i recantly started having this problem with my prius.

when you double lock the car i dont hear the second click.

also the car has stopped beeping when i leave the key in the ignition all together, when the cars on and i open the door, when its off and i open the door, it doesnt beep at all.

the car isnt giving any warning when the key is left behind.

its a 2005 model prius and it started doing this a week a go.

much appreciate the help. thanks :)

My money would be on a failing 12v also.

Has it EVER been changed? If not and you're still on the first one then it's done well getting you this far. Leave car overnight, next morning switch on to ACC mode only ( NOT Ready mode) and then wind all windows right down and back up again. If they are painfully slow but find when the car is in Ready mode, then your 12v is probably shot.

When I recently ran my 12v Battery down, I accidently knocked the wipers to on, and they crept across the screen at a pianfully slow rate. Indicatrion the Battery is shot.

When the 12v Battery is weak instead of a strong chonk chonk sound when you lock it, you get a weak softer lighter sound. Also is the inside light less bright than normal?
