Rav4 Warning Light Question

Hello

I went to swap my Corolla for a Rav4 last saturday. All was looking good until I spotted a lit warning light on the dash - in the bottom part of the instrument cluster. It was a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. The salesman told me it was a low fuel warning - but there was an LCD display with low fuel showing - so why the light.? I got home and downloaded the owners handbook for a 2009 Rav. Two pages of warning lights - none as described above. I have googled and this question appears to have been asked a lot and had many different answers.

What's the light for?

Hello John,

Basically the warning triangle is a warning that you have a warning message in the LCD panel - you know it makes sense...................

It will do the same if the door is open.

The low fuel warning in the LCD display can be cancelled by pressing and momentarily holding the ODO reset stalk. This means that the display will continue to show other data but the warning triangle will stay lit until refuelling is carried out.

HTH

EDIT

Just noticed your tag - not related to Kingo are you ? ;)

Thanks for that reply. I shall arrange to try the car. I've heard a lot of good things about them and quite fancy a high riding position car.

I'm not related to Kingo - all my family are in the East Midlands or South Wales.
