Is There Still Issues With A Replacement 2.2 Engine?

New engine on the way. Lost a bit of faith, should I expect any head gasket problems in the future or have Toyota resolved the issues? Love the car, really don't want to swap it, fantastic for camping lol!

I am none the wiser, but the cars going in tomorrow for the engine replacement and I get it back Friday. I suppose i'll just have to wait and see.

My car is going in on Monday for diagnostics. Suspected head gasket. If I get a new engine I'll keep the car but if it's something else that won't be covered under the extended warranty I may consider changing. Would be interested to hear any answers to your question Rich.

If you get a new 3/4 engine fitted then you should be fine! I've 2 engines fitted under Toyota extended warranty! I'm happy to say that the 2nd engine has had no problems now its all nicely bed in...

Thanks for that Taff, as far as i'm aware Mr T is replacing the whole engine. Any driving tips for when I get it back, do I need to go steady for a few thousand miles? Congratulations on your latest news, have you thought about putting extra seats in the T180 lol...

Eh up Rich :-)

Basically you'll get a 3/4 engine! Which means a new engine, without the things like Turbo ect! Unless they have thought that it needed replacing under the warranty. I would drive the car with a light right foot for the 1st 1000 miles! using different engine speeds and allowing the car to idel for 10 secs b4 drivine off and stopping!
