Hard Wiring Tom Tom Into Toyota Rav 4

hi there

have just been trying to hardwire my tom tom into the cig socket on the Rav 4 2004, i conected to the socket near the central arm rest, but this did not work, is there a seperate fuse controling this, the plug works in the cig socket on the dash but not sure how you push out the cig lighter, any help would be greatly appreciated

You don't say how you have went about this, but remember DO NOT cut the plug off

the cable and hard wire it as the voltage to your tom tom is only about 8 volts if

I remember right.The plug has a built in transformer.

thanks for the reply, i keep the plug on the tomtom and then wire this via aux hlder which is then wired into the loom via the cig lighter, what i dont understand is why the axu socket near the centre arm rest does not work, and how to get at the cig lighter out of the dash
