Help With Check Engine Light Problem

I have a check engine light that keeps coming on. I have changed the fuel cap and cleaned the sensor on the driver's side of the exhaust manifold. The light went off for a while but later came back on. The analyzing computer stated it was a false sensor alarm, and a possible egr problem. Any suggestions. I asked how much an egr valve would be and they stated $149. Does this sound expensive, and is this a recurring problem for this model? Miles62K. Much Thanks

Might be a split on the vaccum hose going to the EGR valve causing the problem - depends if you are getting code 401 or 402 comming up.

I've been looking at that site for a while, and I can't figure out what"LH" is supposed to mean. I can't find anything in my car that looks like what he has drawn.
