Draining The Fuel Tank On A 2006 D4D 2 Litre

Hi all, no luck so far.

First thing i tried was to push a small tube down into the tank from the fuel filler but could only pump air, no fuel.

Then I tried to pump it out using the return to the tank connection, no fuel came out even when revving the engine.

Also tried disconnecting the return to the filter but the engine cut out when the filter was empty.

How is it done?

I did it my way :fireman:

Lift up the rear seat behind the driver.

Lift up the carpet flap near the other rear seat squab.

Remove the 4 fixing screws in the cover plate and move it to one side

being careful not to damage the wiring that passes through the panel.

Release the clip and remove the pipe connection nearest the driver's

side of the assembly.

Attach a pipe to the tank connection revealed and pump out the fuel

into suitable containers.

Remove the pipe and refit the fuel connector, screw down the plate.

Fold down the carpet and the seat squab.

Job done
